HFC Co-Founder, Dave Lewis, Gives Back to the Community

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, HFC – parent company of Budget Blinds and Tailored Living – would like to spotlight co-founder and Chief Information Officer Dave Lewis and his efforts to give back to the community!

Dave has always believed in giving back to those in need. He is very involved with his local church and often supports many of their philanthropic initiatives including building homes in Mexico, water wells in Kenya, and feeding/housing the homeless across Orange County, CA. Dave also participates in his church’s Giving Tree every year where presents are donated to families in need by picking their names off a Christmas tree.

A few months ago, Dave and his wife were invited to a charity event for cystic fibrosis that featured a silent auction. Dave and his wife not only donated a 4 night stay at an oceanfront resort for the auction, but also bid on several of the auction items. Overall, the couple enjoys supporting great causes such as Teams in Training which contributes funds to leukemia research.

 “It’s important that we all come together and find ways to support and help one another,” said Dave Lewis. “Giving does not have to be financial; it can also be done by volunteering at your local church or homeless shelter. Anyone can find their own way of giving back this holiday season to help those who need it most.”

Home Franchise Concepts Remembers Veterans on the Anniversary of Pearl Harbor

  Co-founder of Home Franchise Concepts, Tony Forbes, Whose Father Was Stationed at Pearl Harbor During the Bombing, Gives Thanks to Service Men and Women 

This Saturday, December 7th, marks the 72nd anniversary of the Pearl Harbor bombing that saw 2,402 American soldiers killed and another 1,282 wounded. It was an event that sent shock waves through a nation and changed the trajectory of World War II.   

Home Franchise Concepts (HFC) – the parent company of home improvement franchise properties Budget Blinds and Tailored Living – would like to take a moment to remember the sacrifices that were made that day and thank veterans of all military backgrounds for what they’ve done for this country.

HFC’s strong ties to the military are due in large part to the company’s co-founder and Executive Vice President Tony Forbes. Tony comes from a military family; his brother currently serves in the U.S. Navy and his father is a veteran of World War II. In fact, Tony’s father, William J. Forbes, was on-site when Pearl Harbor was bombed in 1941 which is why the upcoming anniversary is close to his heart.

“My father passed away 10 years ago but I will always remember his stories of the events at Pearl Harbor,” said Tony Forbes. “On the anniversary of Pearl Harbor, it’s very important for us to remember the sacrifices that were made and the brave soldiers that were lost that day. It’s because of these sacrifices that we were able to build the United States into one of the greatest nations in the world.”

Tony Forbes believes that through the enduring and selfless efforts of our military over the years, we’ve all had the opportunity to live the American Dream of starting your own business. Home Franchise Concepts Enlists Lisa Rosser to Help Match Military Veterans with Business Opportunities

Home Franchise Concepts (HFC) – the parent company of home improvement franchises Budget Blinds and Tailored Living – has enlisted military veteran and veteran business advocate Lisa Rosser to help reach and educate the veteran community on the benefits of owning a franchise business. Using Lisa Rosser’s expert advice, as well as personal and professional experience, HFC hopes to give retired service men and women an exciting new platform where they can apply their military training.

Lisa Rosser served 10 years of active duty in the U.S. Army and was involved in several military engagements, including the Gulf War.  Rosser later served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 12 years, where her career took her from operations to human resource management. Compiling all her personal and professional experiences in the military, Lisa Rosser founded The Value of a Veteran in 2007; an organization that teaches businesses principles in veteran hiring and retention. Today, Lisa takes part in workshops, seminars, and consulting engagements for programs that help build futures for veterans such as the VetFran program from the International Franchise Association.

“Working together with HFC, we can inform more veterans on the benefits of owning their own franchise business and ultimately open the door to a fulfilling career path for them after active service,” said Lisa Rosser. “Veterans have so much to offer the business world because of their military experience.
